Handmade Linocut print using black ink on paper. 21cm x 15cm, unframed.
The pangolin is the only mammal entirely covered in scales. A baby pangolin rides piggyback on its mother's back. At a moment's notice, the mother pangolin can quickly roll up into a protective ball, folding away her pup from any peril.
The sharp, tough scales are enough to protect them from natural predators such as tigers and leopards. Sadly, the slow-moving pangolin is particularly vulnerable to poaching by humans, and today they are one of the most illegally trafficked animals on the planet.
